Crowning Moments! Dishes and a Journey!

As I went to bed without an idea of what to post today for my Crowning Moment!, I decided on this:

"Finally, after four days of painting and decorating my sons' room, getting in my garden, planting trees and flowers, doing my monthly grocery shopping, catering to six little ones, and one big one, (my husband:), getting the laundry done, feeding dogs, horses, cows, pigeons, and cats for my husband while he was away looking for our lost cows at the desert, taking kids to the dentist, trying to keep up with my emails, etc., I finally got the dishes completely done; a true CROWNING MOMENT!"

But this morning, as I got up early to post, I read an interesting email that made me curious and I had to search it out.  What I found was incredible and I wanted to share it with you.

This is not just another blog.  Khushbu, from India is on a Journey and her post yesterday was so beautiful that I ended up reading all of her posts.  She is a great writer and has true heart.  I also discovered that she is only 18!  I did the math several times to be sure because her writing is fabulous and touching, like somebody who has lived many more seasons than eighteen!

Her post yesterday was about families and a particular Crowning Moment in her own life.  I encourage you to go check it out.  I hope it will touch all of you like it did me!  Thanks Khushi, for sharing your journey with us.

  1. Melanie, how can I ever thankyou for this. This is very sweet of you! But I need to tell you this, I am an 18 year old! :P
I don't know how you figured out I am a 12 year old, is it my writing or do I blame your math teacher for this? :P
Cause at the age of 12 I was busy robbing my sister's things and taking them to school with me (no I just hope I did not ruin the impression you had about me).
But this is a very huge thing that you have done for me Melanie. Thankyou very much.

  3. I so relate to this post! You have got to stop being so hard on yourself. I think it's a "thing" with women; we put so many expectations on ourselves, but never give a break to that child within us (or rarely). You are so inspiring and your journey right here on the Internet, miles away, inspires this little Texas mama. We plan to travel to Park City this Christmas and I am so worried about how it's all going to work out, but I know the journey will be what it is -- what G-d planned. That's all we can do, isn't it?

    Nice writing, nice post!
